Privacy policy
We appreciate your interest in our Lian Institute website. Protecting your privacy is very important to us. Below, we provide detailed information about how we handle your data.
1. Data access and hosting
We use the services of Learnworlds to provide our offerings. We have concluded a data processing agreement with this provider:
LearnWorlds (CY) Ltd
Gladstonos 120, Foloune Building, 2nd Floor, B1
Limassol, 3032, Cyprus
Website: https://www.learnworlds.com
Privacy policy: https://www.learnworlds.com/privacy-policy/
You can visit our websites without providing any personal information. Each time you visit a website, the web server automatically stores a so-called server log file, which contains, for example, the name of the file requested, your IP address, the date and time of the request, the amount of data transferred, and the requesting provider (access data) and documents the request.
This access data is evaluated solely for the purpose of ensuring the smooth operation of the site and improving our offer. This serves to safeguard our legitimate interests in the correct presentation of our offer, which prevail in the context of a balancing of interests. All access data is deleted no later than seven days after the end of your visit to the site.
IP detection and country assignment
In order to optimize our offer and provide you with country-specific content, we use IP detection, which forwards your IP address to an API in order to assign it to a country. The IP address is used solely to determine the country of origin and is then deleted immediately. This processing serves to protect our legitimate interests, which outweigh any interests in the protection of your rights, in an optimized presentation of our offer and a better user experience.
Hosting services provided by a third-party provider
As part of processing on our behalf, a third-party provider provides us with services for hosting and displaying the website. All data collected during the use of this website or in forms provided for this purpose in the online shop as described below is processed on its servers. Processing on other servers only takes place within the scope explained here.
2. Data collection and use for contract processing and when opening a customer account
We collect personal data if you voluntarily provide it to us when placing an order, contacting us (e.g., via the contact form or email), or opening a customer account. Mandatory fields are marked as such because we require this data to process your order, respond to your inquiry, or open your customer account, and you cannot complete your order, open your account, or send your inquiry without providing this information. The data collected is indicated in the respective input forms. We use the data you provide to process your order and your inquiries. After complete fulfillment of the contract or deletion of your customer account, your data will be restricted for further processing and deleted after expiry of the statutory retention periods, unless you have expressly consented to further use of your data or we reserve the right to use your data beyond this scope, which is permitted by law and about which we inform you in this statement. You can delete your customer account at any time by sending a message to the contact address below or using the function provided for this purpose in your customer account.
3. Data transfer
In order to fulfill the contract, we will pass on your data to the shipping company responsible for delivery, insofar as this is necessary for the delivery of the goods ordered. Depending on which payment service provider you select during the ordering process, we will pass on the payment data collected for this purpose to the credit institution commissioned with the payment and, if applicable, to the payment service providers commissioned by us or to the selected payment service. In some cases, the selected payment service providers also collect this data themselves, provided that you create an account there. In this case, you must log in to the payment service provider with your access data during the ordering process. In this respect, the privacy policy of the respective payment service provider applies.
We use payment service providers. These companies are based in a country outside Switzerland. Personal data is only transferred to these companies if this is necessary for the fulfillment of the contract.
4. Email newsletter and postal advertising
Email advertising with newsletter subscription
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will use the data required for this purpose or provided separately by you to send you our email newsletter regularly based on your consent.
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time either by sending a message to the contact address below or via a link provided for this purpose in the newsletter. After unsubscribing, we will delete your email address unless you have expressly consented to further use of your data or we reserve the right to use your data beyond this scope, which is permitted by law and about which we inform you in this statement.
The newsletter is sent on our behalf by a service provider to whom we pass on your email address for this purpose.
This service provider is located within a country of the European Union or the European Economic Area.
Postal advertising and your right to object
In addition, we reserve the right to use your first and last name and your postal address for our own advertising purposes, e.g. to send you interesting offers and information about our products by post. This serves to protect our legitimate interests in advertising to our customers, which outweigh any interests in protecting your privacy, as determined by a balancing of interests. You will not receive any postal advertising if you have entered a corresponding note in the telephone directory.
The advertising mailings are carried out on our behalf by a service provider to whom we pass on your data for this purpose.
You can object to the storage and use of your data for these purposes at any time by sending a message to the contact option described below.
5. Cookies and web analysis

Use of Google (Universal) Analytics for web analysis
If you have given your consent, this website uses Google (Universal) Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google LLC (www.google.ch), for the purpose of website analysis. Google (Universal) Analytics uses methods that enable an analysis of your use of the website, such as cookies. The automatically collected information about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. By activating IP anonymization on this website, the IP address is shortened before transmission within the member states of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. The anonymized IP address transmitted by your browser within the scope of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data. Once the purpose for which Google Analytics is used has been fulfilled and we no longer need the data, the data collected in this context will be deleted.
Google LLC is headquartered in the USA and is certified under the Swiss-US Privacy Shield. A current certificate can be viewed here. Based on this agreement between the USA and Switzerland, the latter has determined that companies certified under the Privacy Shield have an adequate level of data protection.
You can revoke your consent at any time with future effect by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=ch
This prevents the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) and the processing of this data by Google.
6. Social media
Use of social plugins from Google
Our website uses social plugins (“plugins”) from social networks.
When you visit a page on our website that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to the servers of Facebook, Google, Twitter, or Instagram. The content of the plugin is transmitted directly from the respective provider to your browser and integrated into the page. By integrating the plugins, the providers receive information that your browser has accessed the corresponding page of our website, even if you do not have a profile or are not currently logged in. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted by your browser directly to a server of the respective provider (possibly in the USA) and stored there. If you are logged in to one of the services, the providers can immediately associate your visit to our website with your profile in the respective social network. If you interact with the plugins, for example by clicking the “Like” or “Share” button, the corresponding information is also transmitted directly to a server of the providers and stored there. The information is also published on the social network and displayed to your contacts there. This serves to protect our legitimate interests in the optimal marketing of our offer, which outweigh any interests in the protection of your personal data, based on a balancing of interests.
The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by the providers, as well as a contact option and your rights in this regard and setting options for protecting your privacy, can be found in the privacy policy of the providers.
https://developers.google.com/+/web/buttons-policy
If you do not want social networks to assign the data collected via our website directly to your profile in the respective service, you must log out of the respective service before visiting our website. You can also completely prevent the plugins from loading by using add-ons for your browser, e.g. the script blocker “NoScript” (http://noscript.net/).
YouTube Video Plugins
This website incorporates content from third-party providers. This content is provided by Google LLC (“Provider”).
YouTube is operated by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”).
For YouTube videos embedded on our site, the extended data protection setting is activated. This means that no information about website visitors is collected and stored by YouTube unless they play the video.
The integration of the videos serves to safeguard our legitimate interests in the optimal marketing of our offer, which outweighs any interests in the protection of your rights to privacy, as determined by a balancing of interests.
The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by the providers, as well as your rights in this regard and settings options for protecting your privacy, can be found in Google's privacy policy.
Zoom plugin and programs
Our live webinars are conducted via Zoom.
Please note that when using Zoom, other participants will also be able to see your displayed name. We therefore recommend that you change your name so that your identity cannot be traced. When you access the webinar, Zoom automatically stores your email address, date, and time.
Some of the webinars are recorded so that they can be made available later, for example on the training platform. You decide whether you want to activate your camera and microphone and thus be visible or audible. Recordings are always clearly marked as such.
Please also note that Zoom is a provider from a third country outside the EU. We have concluded a data processing agreement with this provider.
